So, I recently wrote a review for Joanne Bischof’s novella, This Quiet Sky, and I had so much fun doing so, I thought i’d share it here.
I had the privilege to Beta Read this certain novel, and it has always held a place close to my heart!
Oh, this book.
Every time I see the cover, or hear someone talking about it, my heart becomes so full of emotions! A mix of melancholy longing for a young friend I fear I will never meet again, and a keen joyful reminiscence of the wonderful adventures and lessons we learned!
And I read it months ago.
This Quiet Sky is one of those stories that will never leave you. The characters were not just names on a page…they were living, breathing! And the things they went through. The struggles. The triumphs. Somehow, the way Bischof has created this story, they relate so intimately with you. They peirce so deeply that you finish the book a different person than when you started it.
You learn to listen for the Calvary. To spend every minute making the most you can. Loving heard. Living wild. Free.
Tucker O’shay is unlike any young man I have ever encountered in literature. He is so full of life, for someone who doesn’t have much of it left. You cannot help but fall in love with him immediately…and to never want to let you.
Sarah is an immensely relatable character, with a massive amount of courage! I found myself slipping easily into her shoes, while still being impressed and surprised by some of her choices.
I read this entire novel in one sitting, and it is the first book I have ever *SPOILERS* cried in 🙂 But, they were good tears. As its said, sad is happy for deep people 🙂
Please, drop whatever you’re doing and buy this book. You won’t regret it!
